City of Palms Classic LIVE BLOG

FORT MYERS, FLA. -- Good afternoon. I'm checking in from the top of the bleachers at Bishop Verot HS where the City of Palms Classic has officially tipped off.

Here is today's schedule of games:

2:30 p.m. -- Arlington Country Day (Fla.) vs. Roman Catholic (Pa.)
4:15 p.m. -- Word of God (N.C.) vs. American Heritage (Fla.)
6:00 p.m. -- North Port (Fla.) vs. Andrew Jackson (Fla.)*
7:45 p.m. -- Dunbar (Fla.) vs. Duncanville (Tex.)
9:30 p.m. -- Fort Myers (Fla.) vs. Westchester (Calif.)

The North Port-Andrew Jackson game is part of what is called the Sunshine Series, a chance for some of the top area teams to strut their stuff in front of a huge crowd and, more importantly, a bevy of college coaches.

Internet service is spotty, at best, so I will do my best to give live updates of the tournament throughout what will be a long day of hoops.
