While it may seem like the talent is down and out in the New York City. Plenty of players from "The City not to be slept on" will sign in the spring 2009 to various Division I, II, III, Junior Colleges, and NAIA schools.
Here is a small list of some sleepers, that come to mind. I haven't got out to see all the psal teams, such as Gompers, and all the chsaa squads. But here is a list of the kids I did see, who are worthy of a college scholarship.

SG-Ronald Baker 6'2 Wings Academy (2009)
(Bronx NY)- The "Baker" is cooking up his opposition 22ppg and 7rpg. Wings is currently 4-0 in league play.
SG- Chad Coachman 6'1 Campus Magnet (2009)
(Queens, NY)- Bigtime Juco player.
PG- Barry Ingram 5'9 Bayshore (2009)
(Long Island, NY)- Steady PG
PG- Sheldon Jones 6'1 Townsend Harris (2009)
(Queens, NY)- Jones is athletic pg and a great academic student. Jones is in the B-League (5-0) by choice. Avg 25.4ppg, 7.8apg, and 7rpg. Big time talent.
Sonny Kadisha (Pictured) 6'4 Forest Hills (2010) (Queens, NY)- Not a big time scorer, but does what's needed to gets the win, reminds me of kid named Tola who played for Canarsie.
SG- Dominic Murray 6'2 McClancy (2009)
(Queens, NY)- Smooth scorer, excellent roll player.
PG- Marion Smith 5'11 Christ the King (2009)
(Queens, NY)- Important part to the Lions organization for the last 3 seasons.
*SG- Karim Rowson 6'4 Wadeligh (2010)
(Harlem, NY)- Excellent scorer, and a solid defender. "Rim" is having a excellent season. Rowson's avg's 16ppg and 8rpg.
