Carson hearing from Kentucky

Mountain Pointe High School's 6-foot sophomore point guard Jahii Carson has been on fire this high school season.

Carson is among the top 2011 prospects in the country. Carson has led his Mountain Pointe Pride (10-12) this season in just about every statistical category.

The stellar sophomore guard has averaged 26.3 points , 6.8 assists , 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals per/game this season.

While putting up amazing numbers in only his second season of varsity basketball, Carson has already generated numerous scholarship offers from such high major division-I schools as Cal, Oregon State, UNLV and UCONN. While also receiving serious interest from such schools as Kansas, Texas, USC, Fresno State, Michigan, Arizona State, BUY, Utah, Marquette, West Virginia, UAB and many others.

Recently, Carson and his family learned that the University of Kentucky has shown serious interest, as the school has been in contact with Mountain Pointe High School Head Coach Brian Fleming . A member of the Kentucky's basketball staff is also planning to attend a future Pride basketball game to catch a glimpse of Carson.

Carson indicated to Arizona Preps that Kentucky is one of his dream schools, and that he was very excited to hear that the Cats were interested in him as a prospective student-athlete.

One of the elite young prospects in the state of Arizona, Carson can no longer simply be regarded for being a superb young talent, but rather be held in the same regard as the state's elite overall prospects. Since many of the state's top young prospects have already committed to schools, Carson ranks as one of the top two uncommitted prospects in the state, alongside Highland's 6-foot-3 sophomore Nick Johnson .

Carson advised Arizona Preps that while he is excited about the way his college recruitment has gone thus far, that he is in no rush to make a decision on a school.

Arizona Preps will continue to folloow Carson's college recruitment closely, and bring you any more updates as they develop over time.
