Real Scout Rant...about life

Written By: Nathan Blue

School is almost over for me. Thank ya lordi lord! I got a couple of professors who arent pleased with my essays. I have one Oral presentation for a business class thats due next week. Topic is "Act like a chairman of a corporation and discuss it's functions"

Ummm, call me David Stern because im doing the NBA thing for this class project. Lol

I still don't know whats going on for me after i obtain my college degree in Spring of 2011. I hold a B+ avg, so thats good.

I've considered college coaching, highschool coaching, nba scouting, or staying at my current employement which barley pays the bills.

So, i wake up everyday until then reading all the blogs, wishing my naia kids, d2 kids, d3 kids, d1kids, and college grads good luck.

I really just spend time reading sites that have informative stuff, talk to family and friends. I got a cousin in NC who's up and coming. 13years old.

Recently got into the who twitter.com phase, and I dont write too many stories because it's boredline snitching and I'm down with the stop snitching campaign.

I knew Leroy Fludd 6'5 2012 was going to Boys & Girls Hs from Grady, before the
media. I coached him with Juice in rumble in the bronx 16s.

The same way, you will read about Kamari Murphy 6'8 PF Bishop Ford is now attending Lincoln. He's already been there for a couple of days from my close sources.

He's one of my favorite big men 6'8 15yr old junior! Wake Forest and others are involved, great kid, great family support.

Speaking of message boards & blogs. I love redmen.com and OTHERS ALIKE. Those fan affilated sites are dope. I really wish i could go on and talk hoops, but i cant. Since I like a array of colleges.

While, boards like that have some of the most informative die hard fans in hoops. I'm going to get roasted for not sending anybody to Sju or other locals.

Man, id love to NOT watch a kid 8 hrs away, driving up and down route 95 in a rent a car, worried about the DC Sniper part II.

I stay off all fans sites because while they are the blood of the program, and recruits do read them. I know kids who get turned off by sites affialted with programs and some d1 coaches that hate them. But ball is ball, while you will have your positive fans, there will always be SOME negative fans who, want to just say "You did this and that Nate Blue."

Which mostly is made up by some huge consipircy theory. Or just made to make me get defensive.

I know omari lawerence very well, i coached malik stith in 10th grade, Rob Thomas, Justin Burrell, OZ, I helped Norm get the first ever NYC committ in CV, what about Melquan who de-committed from there, Will Harris who wanted to go, Weyinmi who wanted to go, or Greedy who had the option.

I spoke to Eugene Lawrence and gave him my take when he was talking about going to prep for a year or unc charollte. I tried to help them with Shamari Spears.

I knew sylvan wasnt going when he was in uva on his own dime for extra days, being showed around campus by Will Harris, who told me everything.

The problem in this game, man i hate to say is a socially more than anything. I consider myself a guy who watches alot of basketball and watches what translates as years progress, so I am you.

Except if a certain ACC Head Coach askes me at 12:30am "What are we doing
wrong, my assts are horrible."

My reply is "It's freaking 1230am, how about grab some offensive rebounds to create second shots and get more cutting than pick and rolls. You need more guards on your roster, and some high IQ kids."

But as that acc coach does trust my "little bit" of input and we developed a relationship.

I have some people who dont value my opinion and its a constant battle, when in the end. Im making under 50,000 a yr and theyre getting hAlf a Million! I'm trying to help you win, but i'm the fool for trying to help you get a quality under the radar player, who as my man Rob says is "High Risk, High Reward", you gotta have some of those.

On a real random note, please read very carefully. Shouts to Worldwide Wes. We had some real good convos. I know you're wondering why bring this up. Because mentally i feel like www (at a smaller scale), what the media writes about him is good and bad, but no gas...he's so real..like if you can hate on wes and bad mouth him and not meet him, that's crazy. I dont need anything from uncle wes, but he's a good source of advice if you ever do get to brush shoulders with him, thats my uncle. He's considered the most powerful man in sports.

They always try and throw him under the bus, imagine me.

Nathan Blue high school coach, scout, blog, mentor, go to college, respect everybody (to a fault), and have a hundred kids you never heard of. I met agents in the past but do no business with then nor need to.

It's just you will always see that one big name kid in the media, like villanueva or whoever and you say"Nate trying to get paid.". When in relailty its "Nate works with avgerage kids who wouldnt get a scholarship and probably knock you upside your head and take your ipod,
but instead he gets the kid some publicity and is off the streets and into a college."

Ima tell you what my mentor Rodney Parker used to say "If a kid got a 90avg and is getting 25ppg he doesnt need my help. But i'll take the kid from the hood, with the talent, bad grades, and great personality and make em into something. ".

That was real talk rodney and i love you for that, RIP man. Well i'm gonna continue to do me while "some" people for over 10years wonder "what is this guy trying to do, dont trust
him.". Lol

Hopefully everybody has a good weekend. I have a real busy one ahead. Checking Iabbo frosh tourney at sfp out.

Happy B-day to my dude Alex Hall 6'5 SG at St. Catherine College in Kentucky!

I'll be in Kentucky soon, i was suppose to fly out this morning to Detroit. They play rookie of the year "Brandon Jennings" tonight. But, this kid Harkless was watching college ball, home with
a broken foot and said "I want to win a title, I know were I fit, let's get this done.".

Maurice Harkless is close to having 5 schools. There will be a video blog of his 5 schools on GothamHoops.com sometime this weekend. The offical committment will be Wed Dec 9th on sny.tv

A lot of people are missing the boat on Mike Poole 6'6 St. Benedicts...hes so nice its crazy. But his level of respect is horrible. No way he gets all these low D1's but, i might have a ACC/
Big East/Big 12 option for him.
