Real Scout News & Notes

Written By: Nathan Blue aka Real Scout
Today will be one of the few quiet days I had this week. For the last couple of days, I've been watching all the NBA games. It's good to see Gilbert Arenas back doing what Gil Zero does. I'm going to try and predict the future and say, Lebron is not going to be back in Cleveland for the 2010/11 season.

Of course, Bron' will say all the right things but in the end, he'll try his hardest to be sitting alongside Jack Nicholas or Tossing Oops to Birdman. He's got enough money, just take a pay cut and win with Kobe or Melo. This move will put Cleveland back in the bottom of the Eastern Conference and Cavs Jerseys wont be whats poppin, like those jerseys ever were. lol

College wise, that Louisville vs Georgetown College (NAIA) game was a little scary. Pitinio likes to play around with those guys and win late. If that was Calapari or Nolan Richardson (Old Arkansas Coach creator of 40mins of hell), those Georgetown College guys would've understood what D1 was about. Not knocking Pitino, just wondering why he didn't just do them dirty early. I like that Sosa, Smith, and Siva backcourt.

Shouts go out to my man Jamel Ferguson who was a problem the first half and represented the Big Apple. Jamel played last year for Manhattan College and will have a solid career at Georgetown College KY, as evident yesterday.

This weekend, I wont be at IS8. Instead choosing to watch Lincoln, St.Patrick's, Jefferson, Seton Hall Prep, Forest Hills, Newark Eastside, and others in Neptune NJ (Hoop Group Tournament). I'm also stuck between my first college game to attend. I know, Nov 14th I'll be in Western Carolina watching them play. But, on the 13th Ill either be at Hartford @ Quinnipiac, William & Mary @ Uconn, or Nichollas State vs Duquense.

Plus, school is almost done, in about 5 weeks. So, I'm finishing up strong. I'll be doing my annual high school preview soon. I've seen enough to come out with a fairly good one, you'll never guess who my Player of the Year for CHSAA & PSAL is, trust me, these two previews will be better then them all.

Lance Stephenson making noise in Ohio

Freshman Lance Stephenson put on a show Saturday in his first public appearance as a member of the University of Cincinnati basketball team.

Playing in an intrasqad scrimmage before the football game, Stephenson scored 22 points in 25 minutes to lead the Red team to a 50-43 victory over the Black team.

He also made two nifty passes, including a bounce pass that led to a layup in transition and an alley-oop pass to led to a Darnell Wilks dunk.

“The guy can play offense,” said UC coach Mick Cronin. “He’s got a lot of natural, God-given ability. I think our style of play will help Lance.”

Playing on the Red team with Stephenson were Cashmere Wright, Deonta Vaughn, Yancy Gates and Biggie McClain.

“The good part about it for Lance,” Cronin said, “is that he doesn’t have to carry our team. He’s got a lot of other players around him.”

Real Scout News & Rumors (RIP Domo Video)

Written by Nathan Blue aka RealScout

I had the chance to go Friday to Uconn's First Night(Midnight Madness). I didnt want my trip up to Connecticut to get alot of recogniztion. Kind of anti-media lately, feeling like Gilbert Arenas. Im happy to hear that David Cooley 6'2 Jefferson HS committed to Stony Brook. He's one of the Classic NYC Generals, similar to SJU's Malik Boothe.

Wow!

I was surprised to hear that Dashaun Wiggans 6'3 Bridgeton Academy committed to Seton Hall. I just remember alot of NEC schools knocking him in Hoop Group Elite Camp. I don't want to say hes over his head, because the kid can score. But, hes going to have to work very hard to make a "impact" in the big east.

Coaches are calling

The last to weeks have been a little hectic. I've been traveling around alot, but now is when the ACC and Big East schools are wearing out my anytime mins. On that note, I had a huge debate over 2011 guards. I wish I could tell y0u what are my beliefs but, Im getting a national consensus that everyone is feeling Gibbs, Ash, Hinds, Sledge, Mack, Grace, and Davis in that order.

Honestly, Im trying to stay quiet on some other issues. I dont snitch, I just state my honest opinon. Follow me on twitter.com/RealScout

Talk to you tomorrow.

Rest In Peace "Dominic Murray" Real Scout Family

I had the chance to attend the wake for Dominic Murray yesterday. Once again my prayers are with his mother and family in this diifcult time. The entire basketball community was there yesterday, including long lost friends. I can give a list of names, but we all supported the lightskinned kid with the dream of making it big. RIP Domo, your spirit will 4ever live in my heart.

Nathan Blue Remembers Dominic Murray

Dominic Murray passed away yesterday on the basketball court at Suny Farmingdale. The McClancy graduate went into cardiac arrest in a open gym workout Monday October 5th 2009.

Murray was one of the closer kids to me, so this really puts a hole in my heart. I can write down thousands of memories of us. I'm really torn up, and I just can't believe hes gone. But, domo will always be with us.

He passed playing the game he loved, and now he's with the lord.
